Terms of service & privacy
What IDEXA is
IDEXA ("we," "us") collects, organizes, and presents information drawn from public records published by the City of Indianapolis, the State of Indiana, and the governments of Marion, Hamilton, Hendricks, Boone, Johnson, and Hancock counties, among other related government sources. The core research tools are free to use. We may offer paid plans with additional features; where we do, the terms below on billing apply.
Permitted use — please read this one
IDEXA is not a consumer reporting agency and our data is not a "consumer report" as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. § 1681). You may not use our data, in whole or in part, to determine any person's eligibility for employment, housing or tenancy, credit, insurance, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA. By using IDEXA you agree to this restriction. We terminate accounts that violate it, without refund.
You also may not resell, redistribute, or republish the underlying data feed itself; use it to harass any person; or represent it as issued or endorsed by any government agency.
Accuracy and warranty
Our data reflects what public records said at the time we collected them. Government records contain errors, omissions, and delays, and property circumstances change. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Verify anything material against the official source before acting on it — our data sources page names the publisher of every record type so you can do exactly that.
Paid plans and billing
- Research on IDEXA is free. If you subscribe to a paid plan, it bills through Stripe on the terms shown at checkout.
- You can cancel a paid plan at any time — from a link in any billing email or by writing to hello@idexa.one. Cancellation stops the next billing cycle; we don't prorate partial periods.
- We may change pricing with 30 days' email notice; existing subscribers keep their price for at least 90 days after any change.
Privacy
- We collect what you give us (such as your email and preferences when you request access or sign up) and standard web analytics. We use it to run the service and nothing else.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which features get used (for example, searches run and property records opened). It sets cookies and sends usage data — not your email or payment details — to Google. You can block it with any content blocker or Google's opt-out add-on.
- We do not sell your information. Ever.
- If you subscribe, payment details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card number.

About the property data itself
The addresses, case records, and ownership information we show come from public government records, which are treated as publicly available information. If you believe a record about your property is inaccurate, the authoritative fix is with the issuing agency — but email us and we'll gladly re-sync our copy of the record.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose (and, if you've paid us nothing, is limited to $50). We are not liable for decisions you make based on the data.
